Has anybody ever used the Red Head Turkey decoys from BPS? This coming spring will be my first year turkey hunting and I was hoping I could get some pros/cons on these relatively inexpensive decoys. Thanks in advance.
I'm not familiar with them, but I will say this, you get what you pay for. After buying many decoys I've started buying avians and will own them forever. Being your first year it may not be the investment you're looking to make and not likely to be necessary. But once you get bit by the turkey bug (which you will) check out the Avian-x line up!
Love me some Avian-x deeks! Did you see the new turkey pose for this year? The laydown hen? I pre-ordered one and can't wait to add it to my collection!
The purpose of my decoys is to get a turkey within shooting distance. I've got some cheap foam decoys that have worked just fine. They are lite portable and only have to get a turkey to 20 yards. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2
No I have another full strutt that I have a jake and tom fan for, don't remember which brand. I have the looker and feeder. Was going to buy the breeder but the lay down serves that purpose and better, so I may have to buy two this year lol. I end up packing a lot of equipment alone for long distances often to find big woods birds so I avoid the strutter if I can. I also have a runt which is the original "funky chicken" that primos stole the idea from.
I have bought the cheaper decoys and they work pretty well, but most likely you will end up buying nice decoys in the end. I started with the foam one and now have avain x decoys. Save yourself some money and get the avian decoys, you will not regret it.
