Here in PA our season opens pretty late. I also havent really got out yet, but hope to a couple times next week. I stink at turkey hunting to begin with, but especially this time of the year. Sometimes around when trout opens for us (early to mid April), Ill hit the woods with some camo and calls and am able to call birds in. But never during season have I been able to do it. Just wondering if anyone has a couple tips to help motivate me to avoid the snooze button haha. Thanks a ton!!

    1. Call less.
    2. Be where they want to be.
    3. Leave the flock of decoys at home 1 to 2 hens max. No jakes/toms.
    4. And the last one. BE PATIENT!!!

Awesome thank you. Most days I dont even use a decoy. But I do have a hen or 2 I can bring with. And the calling less is something I always struggle with. I grew up watching them tv guys calling like they are in a rock band...so hard to break that habit lol. Ill do my best though!

A lot of times late season gobblers won't talk at all and they will sneak looking for the hen so be aware and focused!! Good luck!

Calling less is always better, in my book. A lot of times those toms wont talk much in the mornings, maybe on the roost but then they shut up, after fly down. They do tend to talk a little more during mid day when they are alone looking for that last available hen, since most hens will leave him to go on their nest. Find where the hens like to nest, and you will find those toms frequenting those areas during mid day. Good luck, and stick with it!
