Called in two love struck toms this morning. They entered the decoys at 6 yards and proceeded to kick the crap out of my jake decoy. I hate to say but I missed with a Magnus bullhead at 8 yards on the first shot. How is that possible right? LMAO! Shot right over the top of his head nearly giving him a buzz cut.

Well that really got them fired up and they proceeded to dance on my jake and kick the crap out of my boss hen decoy! lol! I ended the dominant toms fight when I put a NAP Spitfire Gobble Getter right through his hips!

I was so close to working the second tom back in within shooting range to end my turkey season in Kansas.

    Unofficial results:

    20 lbs 4 oz.
1" spurs (Rocky in this area, he had really wore them down.)
    9.5" beard

Not bad for a self portrait being the wind was guesting to 25 mph when I started packing up!

Awesome. Never recovered my bird last weekend. Hopefully I will be able to come across a few more.

Boooo!!!! I got it done again on pub ground without any scouting or the use of a bait pile! :poke: Speaking of which... When you going to hook me up down that way so I can harvest a Rio in pursuit of my slam? :p

Heckler, what public land do you usually hunt around here?

Depends on which day you ask me! LOL! I have hunted Perry, Clinton, and Pomona and almost every piece of WIHA within 60 miles and some times farther since moving to Topeka 10 or so years ago. I moved around a bunch. It's my ADD, always need new scenery to keep me interested.

The probability of someone running into me on pub ground more then once is slim to none. If they see me more then once then they better be hunting that area because I am there for a reason and typically a really good one!

Well if you have any spots around Clinton, especially on the Topeka side of things and you ever want to show those to someone let me know!
