Cabelas has an pretty good deal on an Avian X, Jake and breeder hen decoy combo for only $160. Was thinking about picking it up. Just curious as to what everybody else is using.

Avian x decoys are amazingly real looking. I use those for hens with a Dakota "Best Turkey Decoy" jake.

Dave Smith Decoys are top notch as well

I used my friends DSD's last year. Great looking and best money can buy without a full body mount in the field. I own a Dakota Decoys Jake and I see this year they came out with a breeder hen. I will be buying the hen to go along with my Jake. Body posture and realism will help bring those birds in close. I am not a fan of a full strut because I have had more birds hang up or leave when they see the strutter, but when it works, look out because a beating is about to go down! I have had great success with the Jake posture.
I see Hunters Specialites released the Snoods, which have similar posures and paint, collapsible, and are cheaper than the others mentioned above. _E2A4543.jpg

I use the B mobile and She mobile, and also the She mobile that the head pivots (can't remember what its called). We have had gobblers beat B mobile down, and it bent the metal stake into like a 30 degree angle.

I switched to DSD a couple years ago. My sucess has gone up so much I now basically have the whole flock. Things have worked gret for me, especially at getting birds right in close for bow shots

They are great, amazing quality, and they have awesome detail. My last one is on its way to my local bass pro now. I can not wait until it gets here. and more importantly I can't wait to use them this spring.

just bought the DSD upright hen and it looks amazing haven't used it in the field yet... thinking about buy the quarter strut jake to go with it. I am firm believer that you get what you pay for so money should not be an issue, most of these high priced decoys have life time guarantees anyways.

I have hunted over several different turkey decoys and I don't care for the strutting ones. IMO and with my experience, its tough to beat the half strut jake/hen combos that are out there! I have hunted over the Dave Smith decoys like last year (Season 4 episode 2). I own the Dakota X (best turkey decoy) and this year they now offer a hen decoy which I will be buying to complete my set. The better the decoys look, the more you can get away with because the birds will be fixated on them!
