First hunt of the year, yielded this gobbler. Roosted one the night before. Just wanted to get a little sunrise in my life, and hear the birds before work (I didn't even wear a camo hat or facemask). Got settled in fully expecting the bird to pitch down, gobble, strut and walk away with a hen. That's exactly what happened. But what I didn't plan on was having another gobbler in the area, and having him come right to my calls. 20 yard shot in an open field, at 6:15am. If you've hunted turkeys very much, you know how "easy" some hunts can be. This was one of those. Beautiful morning, gobbles by the hundreds, and a bloody turkey vest. God is good. 21# 10.25" Beard 1" Spurs Best of luck to you all! Hunt safe.
Congrats on the bird and awesome pics!!!! I didn't even realize there was a turkey forum until you mentioned it in my thread. Ha!
I really do. lol Some people say it wouldn't be as fun if it was easy....I'd at least like to test that theory!
