    Maybe I don't want to believe this is a racoon but I just don't think it is. Help?
    Couple other things that I think it may be but no one else believes me.

    fisher. we have them everywhere in my area. they are mean suckers. they are really hurting the turkey population. we never had them until the last 5-10 yrs. likely our game commission stocked them.

    Yep, a FISHER.
    (Same family as the minks and martens, but about the size of a cat)

    They mostly feed on rodents, squirrels, rabbits and porcupines and grouses as well...
