Very first cam pic?

Does anyone still have their very first trail cam pic? I was going through my pics and found mine. This was taken with the old Deer Cam (DC100) by Nontypical, back around 2000. Pretty good quality for back then. It actually used film! It's the same company who owns Cuddeback now.

 

I'm sorry to say I don't.

 

Mine was from an old 35 MM photo hunter cam Im pretty sure it was a weed in the wind .....

 

Ooh, I could see this being a pretty cool thread. I'd have to check but it was probably a dog or raccoon getting into a salt block.

 

I'd have to look but I'm sure I've got some of my old 35's from my Trailmaster camera. I believe it was sometime in the early '90s before the digitals came out.

I had a few rolls developed prior to this shot, but this is the oldest one I have. From my back yard when I lived in Duluth. Had a number of bucks roaming around, but this 9 pt was the biggest.




Here he is the next year lightly sparring with a smaller buck. (screenshot from an old video)



And here's one of the other buck that came into the yard regularly



These are the deer that made me start bowhunting

 

They were so easy to hide back then...


I've got one better, a picture of my first camera.

 

Matt, the insides of that cam looks much like DC100 I had. I like old stuff! lol

 

I did until I had an old PC crash. I remember it was of a group of Does.

 

First one was from a 2010 Moultrie D series camera. (might seem like new stuff to the guys from the early 00's) but the thing went through batteries like no ones business and the quality wasn't very good. One good thing about it was it had a laser to see where it was aimed. I think this was one of the first pics we got on it.

 

At one time I had three of those same cameras. Very expensive to use with the cost of the 35mm film and processing. Bad thing was the largest roll of film only had 36 exposures!

 

Man I would have hated to have to go through all of the work to take the film to the store and have it developed before even knowing what you have haha. Most of my pics end up being birds or cats and crap so I'd be pissed lol

 

They were expensive to run, but they were among the best at the time. Things sure have changed since then.

 

I grew up too poor to get into the early stage of cameras, first camera ever ran was a Moultrie I borrowed from my buddy, took really good pics just burned through batteries! First camera I ever personally owned was a cheap wildview in 2009 I ended up harvesting the first buck I got on camera.

 

I remember one time when I placed one watching a creek crossing. It rained a flood sometime afterward and all I got was pics of water!
