1) It doesn't matter what they cost, even top end cams WILL malfunction. 2) Doesn't pay to "soak" them too long, because it might malfunction a few days in, and you could lose weeks worth of potential pics. 3) Try to point them north or south, so the sun doesn't mess up too many pics. 4) Put numerous cams out in case one craps out on you, that way you're backed up. 5) Put numerous cams out in case one gets stolen, that way you're backed up. haha 6) Put GOOD THOUGHT into where you locate your cams, less likely to get stolen. 7) Clear any grasses, branches, and vines that might trigger your cam. This way, you won't drive yourself crazy trying to find/figure what triggered your cam. 8) Enjoy your cams!!!!!!
I put up a mock scrape 2 weeks ago and out my best $250 Moultrie camera on it. Checked it and not a single picture - not even me walking in or walking out. A deer made a scrape right next to my mock one and I have no idea which one it was... Just put my $50 WGI camera on it that I got at the same time that I've never had an issue with. So, I can agree to that 1st statement. What a bummer when they do malfunction!
Same here, I have like 5 of them. They don't take art gallery pics, but they're decent. I generally get them for 39.99 with free shipping from ****s sporting goods. They'll generally run that sale every month or so.

I agree with all of those. Only addition is to buy a card reader. Either a trail pad or a reader for your phone. That way you can check the cam results in the field and determine if you want or need to move it. I have like 5 of the WGI Axe 5 from ducks. All bought for like $40. They are awesome!! I like that I have about 8 cameras due to the cheap prices and they get photos of what I need and want.
I picked up a few WGI cloak 7's during the summer for $45 from ****s. How is the terra 6? The cloak I feel is a descent upgrade but not much from the Axe5.
9) Wear rubber boots that have never been used anywhere else. 10) Spray scent killer of some type on the cam.
Should also have, Don't place cameras 90 degrees to a trail. Place them to a 45 degrees or less to maximize the time the deer is in the frame so you don't get a bunch of photos of deer butts.
