Very surprised to have a buck outa velvet this early, he's been a resident on the farm I hunt all summer, hopefully he sticks around. Not the best pics, there screen shots from a video.
I attached the videos because of how terrible the pics were. trim 6CC3505E 055F 433E ACF4 1EC9EBD07995 - YouTube trim 790233C2 164D 4958 93F8 F6AE67A712B8 - YouTube
I think he is defective and you need to remove him from the herd. At the first legal opportunity that is.
I was pumped to see him out of velvet already, my summer flew by planning for our wedding this September, I set it up so that I'll be back from the honey moon just in time for the start of the season! Hope the buck sticks around and I get a crack at him.
I saw one just this morning with no velvet! It was odd, I saw him by himself and further down the field I saw a group of four young bucks running together that were all still in velvet.
Down here in florida they have been out of velvet for at least a month. Our rut in the south zone is already done and we have been huntin for 2 weeks
Nope hot as all getout here. Mosquitoes and snakes. Feels like 105 degrees and you have to really want to sit in that.
