I've passed this buck for two years now, and it's payed off. Last year he was probably about 120, now as a four year old he blew up!
That's great, and I hope you get him. But for many of us, myself included, we don't have the luxury of passing deer and feeling confident he will survive. I have passed on a lot of bucks, many in the 120's, but most of those deer get shot by someone else. Every farm I hunt has people hunting on all land that joins it. My biggest parcel of land is 200 acres, but all but maybe 10 acres is tillable land. That's just the way it is where I hunt.
Here's one from last year that got passed on: (P.S. he did have a left G2 that's not visible being behind his left G3) This year:
Covey, PLEASE let me come kill that drop time buck!! (Notice how politely I asked) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd say okay come on down but I'm a selfish s*******tch so no. Besides, look at how messed up his right side is, you don't want a mess like that hanging on your wall to have to look at.
Dude, I got kids... my place is always trashed. He'll fit right in! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Grew up hunting a mere 9 acres...seriously that's it. Tons of bucks I passed got shot...but not all ....well couple times by me the following year.
