Hi all, Does anyone know of a trail cam that has the ability to have flash turned off at night. How about a trail cam that DOES NOT have any night vision. I'm looking for a cam for under $125.00 to be used during daylight hours only, can't have any flashes going off at night. Any ideas would be helpful.....thanks
They make no glow cameras. They take night pictures and you don't see any light but I don't know any that are sold for $125.
Stealth, Browning and others can be bought for $125 or less. With either a white strobe flash or IR flash you can cover the flash with enough duct tape to obscure the flash but the cam will still take a pic which will be black.
Most cameras are infrared nowadays and many brands allow you to set your camera to day only mode. Shouldn't be hard to find what you're looking for.
Sounds like security use Most cameras have a timer option also so you can set the start stop to take day pics only
I could do a build using a Sony S40 whiteflash camera, all you would need to do is press a button to disable the flash. The board could also be set to take daytime pictures only so no pictures would be taken after dark, period. As close as I can come to your price is $140.00 including a pair of cards and shipping but the pictures it would take would be great. It would look a lot like this except the dual D battery holder would be replaced with a dual C battery holder. I know the Cabelas black IR shows nothing, in fact I looked directly into and thought it wasn't working. They run around $139.
Also most cameras that do have a flash you can configure them not to take pictures at night which of course equals no flash. As other have said many IR cameras are almost completely invisible but if you are not wanting any pictures at night then turning off the night pictures can be done. This is something I do if I will have a camera out for long periods of time. No flash usually equals longer battery life. Check eBay you can usually find cameras there at the price points you want. Also Natchez shooter supply runs sales on refurbished and demo models that are usually pretty good too. good luck.
That's news to me too, I've built 300 or so for guys who prefer whiteflash. Many of the manufacturers are offering whiteflash trailcameras again too so it's definitely not a thing of the past.
Wow, I wasn't expecting so many responses. I ordered this one: G42NG I don't know how good it will be, it seems that each and everyone that I looked at had both bad and good reviews, it's basically like playing the lottery. Thank you everyone for all your advice
