Are they made in the USA or not?? Trailcampro says they're not made in USA anymore... Just trying to confirm.

The Recruit did not grade out well in their initial tests. Hoping Pat or someone else can chime in and clarify?

They are assembled here in the US. I know the owner personally. He lives here in NC. All trailcams rely on Processors made in China. No one yet in the USA have developed the technology. So you will see them say "Assembled in the USA", but since the "brains" of the trailcam is not manufactured here, the cannot say the cameras are made in the USA.

Someone might want to head over to the "Trail Cam Freaks" Facebook page and clear that up on their recent post.

Detractors will always exist. I know the future plans are to be fully operating in the US from start to finish. I will say this much, I've for a long time loved my Coverts.....recently started switching over to USA and not gonna lie better battery life and images are as good if not better. Video mode I haven't tested yet, but I've fallen in love with the blasted things!

Once you start using electronics it can be really hard for anything to be truly 100% American made. So many of the components are made in different countries...

Here's a brief explanation behind the name ....

We are called USA Trail Cams because it is our agenda to make the best camera and to produce them here. Unfortunately that process doesn't happen overnight and it requires a lot of effort and planning. In order for us to make it worth while we have to build up brand and sales to a certain level that allows to build a full factory here. Since the majority of the camera parts are not available here, we are required to purchase from overseas and thus cannot say made in USA until we exceed 85% produced in the USA. We are betting our good name that we are gonna get it done here and we have to start somewhere. We are planning for the future and not planning for the present.

I've never been a fan of the way TCP tests the cameras. Im really happy with the Recruit. Takes great pics and has good battery life. They pass my test with 2 thumbs up.

I have no interest in the TCF drama on facebook.

Hey Fellows, I was a big browning Strike Force Man (HD or Elite), I think this is the best camera for that price range that is out there...But, if you move up in the 200.00 price range the USA Trail Cam is top notch....I have the Recruit (2016) and it's a fantastic camera day and night photos are fantastic.....Have not tried the Video yet, but I'm sure it is great as well.....

I have a Recruit and a Patriot and the battery life is UNREAL. Very good pics and great Field of View. I haven't tried the video mode yet, but I will be this Summer.

Even their competitor camera comparison pictures on their site are pretty convincing. Seeing/hearing the video quality is added bonus. I might have to get one myself.

Well I am done with Moultrie cameras.I have had one of their 880's for just over their warranty period and it just stopped working. I called Moultrie and they told me if it's out of warranty they won't fix it but would give me 30% off on a new one!!that's b.s.,that was a pretty pricey camera to end up being a throw away after a year!! I'm done with that company, they never used to be that way.

Yeah, I really liked the M80 cams. I have 3 of them. A couple years ago one went bad and they replaced it, but the last one that went bad they told me they were no longer repairing/replacing cams out of warranty. I wasn't expecting a free replacement camera, but I would have paid a reasonable amount for a repair. I have totally written them off as a company.

I'm still a Covert fan, and will remain that way until I'm given a reason not to be. Reasonable price, great pic quality, and battery life that is almost unbelievable.
