I know that deer grow and change in different ways, but between these two which would you see being a nicer deer when Sept. rolls around?

Don't know if it is the angle of the pictures but that 2nd picture looks like a much larger bodied deer. while the first may end up with more points, that 2nd looks like its rack is going to be very thick.

I would have to vote for #2.

By those pics I would say #2. Just curious if you know the ages on them

I agree with #2 as well. The buck in #1 looks like he will be a nice young basket buck this year but a nice future buck to chase after.

    Another vote for #2

Bigger body and more mass appears to be older to me

#2, strictly because I think it is an older deer. Age > Headgear

The one that steps in front of me!

Number 2 looks older so I would have to agree with everyone else that I'd try for him first and let number one live until next year!

#2 for me. looks like he'll be a stud. going to be a tall rack in the end by how high he is already. keep us updated on their development.

WGI_0639.jpg WGI_0664.jpg I do not have any pics this early from last year but I am hoping one of these two happens to be the same buck I was after last year. Hunt in a pretty small area where I know most of the hunters and never heard of anyone getting him.

Without a picture of the drop tine from last year it's hard to tell.
My vote is #2 as well but you can tell #2 isn't the drop tine buck already. Rack comes off the head a lot differently.

#2. While the first deer is very impressive and looks to be a promising prospect, #2 looks older right now and looks like the frame of his rack will be much larger...

The first one will have more points. I think #2 will have more mass.

Small update with a comment. It always amazes me the differences in the growth rates of deer throughout this process. thumb_IMAG1424_1024.jpg thumb_IMAG3234_1024.jpg thumb_IMAG3229_1024.jpg thumb_IMAG2851_1024.jpg thumb_IMAG1727_1024.jpg
