Last year I bought my first trail camera, a Covert Extreme Red 40. It took great pics, but about halfway through the season the off/setup/on switch started having trouble. Sometimes it would take 10 minutes of fighting with it to get it to go to camera mode or shut off. This year I can't get it to turn off or go to camera mode at all. It stays in setup mode no matter where I put the switch. I've ordered a Stealth Cam G42 No Glow that should be here Thursday, but I want to see if I can get this one repaired. Has anyone had this problem, and how is Covert's customer service when it comes to issues like this?
Hopefully they're good. Just sent my mp6 black in for white pictures 90% of the pictures. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
Early last year I had an MPE5 i bought off a forum member here stop workin on me. I called covert and told them i didnt have a warranty or anything. She told me to send it on in. Within a week, I had a brand new one sitting in my mailbox. That was pretty good customer service to me!
There is only like 5 people that work there so they are very helpful and down to earth to talk to. The worst they would do is ask you to pay for shipping and then they would fix it or send back a new one. Typically trail cams only have one year warranties as is the case with most electronics they do break eventually but 9timesoutta10 they'll help you out. Thats been my experience with Covert.
I just called them. My call was answered immediately and once I explained what the problem was, the young man I was talking to took my information, gave me a return authorization number and said they would get me taken care of. Now I guess we will see what they say. I'm not in a rush since I'll have the new Stealth Cam on Thursday. Thanks for the input. It's encouraging.
Best I've ever had to deal with....very good. The worst I have deal with was Moultrie....that was a disaster on a new camera that hadn't even been on a tree.. Lol Sent from my XT830C
I will no longer buy Moultrie cams partly because of this but mainly because they're junk. Lol. I've had too many and been disappointed every time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm kind of experiencing the same problem with my Red 40 right now. When I switch it to set up or on, the screen doesn't come on nor does the red light on the front blink. I plan on emailing them tonight to get a number and sending it back tomorrow. I feel very confident that they wont hesitate to replace it.
I was getting ready to try a Covert 40 HD out, but if they have this many problems I'll just stick with the Brownings.... Creeks!
I'm really high on the browning cams as well as the new Bushnell Aggressors! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Seems like they take care on the CS, also seems CS is used an awful lot on coverts.....maybe the greatest CS is ones you never have to use.
I wasn't talking about Moultrie.....I use Browning Strike Force (HD) and Bushnell Aggressor, they have been excellent, and take fantastic photos.......here is a browning in use, night shot...
Well, the question about Covert customer service has been answered. I sent the old camera back a week ago today via FedEx ground. I got home today and there was a brand new one waiting for me on the front porch. One week to the day from when I shipped it. That's got to be some kind of record. My hat is off to Covert's customer support team. It actually makes me feel guilty about buying a Stealth Cam to use in the meantime.
I have called them several times over the last week or so and I always get an answering machine. I am still waiting on a call back but at this point it doesn't appear that it's going to happen. Guess I will just have to keep on calling and hoping someone picks up!
