    I agree. I remember seeing them as a kid, just around the corner from my house in the 60s & 70s. I honestly can't recall the last time I've seen one.

    They are actually pheasants :) - Brownish ones are female and the colorful ones are males.

    I know we also have quite a few grouse running around too.
