Coyote? Southern IL pics

    Not an expert, but does not look like a coyote to me.

    looks wolf like for sure... but It can't be unless one has escaped.... still going for hybrid, are they legal in IL,

    Dadgum... if that's a coyote that's a monster. It really doesn't look very coyote-like to me though. In the third picture if you look at the head and nose, it looks more wolf-like. A coyote muzzle is skinny and shaped somewhat like a fox. That critter has a big ole muzzle.

    I'm almost 100% sure that's not a coyote. We used to hunt them a lot and would occasionally weigh some of the bigger ones. I don't remember us ever killing one over 40lbs.

    As for the legality of hybrids in IL, I'm not sure. Everything is illegal here, so I doubt it :)
