Well I may suck at killing deer but I sure can get some good trail cam pics of them.

First we have Jay Cutler who is possibly the largest 3 year old I've ever seen. He went from a 115-120" 2 year old that we passed a bunch of times last year to a solid 150" 3 year old. Although I'd love to shoot him I'm secretly hoping he makes it to next year so I can see what he does. My guess is he pushes 180 as a 4 year old. Although he moves a LOT during the daylight and I'm afraid the neighbors are going to whack him during gun season.

Next is the STD buck. I saw him once last year and twice this year already. First time was opening day he came in as I was lowering my bow to the ground just after shooting light. 25 yards wide open. Second time was 11/10 when he cruised through at about 45 yards. He wasn't interested in my calling. This deer roams pretty far on our lease and we have pics of him more than a mile and a half apart. Although he does seem to stick to our piece of ground it's certainly possibly the neighbors may whack him with a gun. Only time will tell.

In any case this is probably my favorite deer on the farm - even moreso than Baconator. He's a world class 8 point and probably pushes 300 lbs on the hoof. Just an absolute monarch of a whitetail. Pics were last Friday afternoon about 50 yards from one of our stands.

Unfortunately my time to hunt has pretty much run out so the chances of killing these deer is slim to none this season. I just hope they make it through gun season and give me a chance to chase them again next fall...

Don't worry Justin, I'll buy a Illinois tag and head over tomorrow to kill one of those the first sit.

Sweet deer though, and pics. I need to sell my Moultrie M-880 and M-880i and get some Stealth Cams.

Kind of a long story. Last year he had dual crab claws at the end of his beams.

Well there's another buck name for you JZ. So far we have Camel..., Woody, Herpes and Ebola. This is escalating nicely.

Just think how the conversation would go if he managed to get those on the wall "Those two there are Herpes and STD. Gonorrhea is still running around out there this year. Hoping he survives. Sure would like a chance at him and Ebola next year!"

Just for the record I didn't name the STD buck. Someone else on the lease did and it just stuck. I wanted to call him "Sebastian Buck". However I lost that battle.

Lease is in NW IL. Few hours North of the Fulton boys.

Natural scrape. The lease is a few hours from home so I don't do anything with mock scrapes. I'm simply not there enough in Sept/Oct to keep them fresh.

I'm still getting plenty of pics of bucks in scrapes but they aren't actively working them. Maybe a sniff of the licking branch but ground scraping seems to be pretty well over up here.

"I really thought I had Gonorrhea just could never close the deal...so settled for Herpes...not complaining but Herpes is no Gonorrhea. The wife is thinking about hunting next year...we'll see if she can get Gonorrhea, be an awesome bonding experience!"

Well it looks like I called it a little earlier than expected - neighbors killed Jay Cutler sometime in the last week or so.
