It was after legal shooting light, bow was on the ground, camera packed up and just put my foot on the first step to start my descend. I was sitting in a 70 yard wide, wooded funnel that closes off a 100 acre soy bean field and heard a stick break over my shoulder; from what I could tell it looked a decent buck so I slowly moved back into my stand so I didn't spook him off. I watched his outline for what must have been 20 minutes before he moved on and I hung a camera before I left because I didn't think I recognized him. I checked cameras today in high hopes of getting a scenic fall picture for this months competition, but I'm satisfied with this guy. All we need now is for him to slip up once the rut comes in. Age and score?
