Hey I am new to this and was just wondering what would be a good Brand of Trail Cameras to buy to see what kind of deer is out there where I am going to hunt.

It really depends on what you are looking for in a camera (like trigger speed, recovery time, flash range, detection range ect..) also it depends on the price range that you have to purchase a camera or multiple cameras. The majority of the brands that are well known, stealth cam, browning, wild game innovations, bushnell, covert, moultrie, will all work, but the quality will be different with each brand and with each price range.

I've never tried covert (a lot of people on here recommend them), but I've tried several others. I finally found a keeper. The Moultrie 990i No Glow was BY FAR the best camera I've ever used. Fast trigger, excellent picture quality, LONG battery life, LCD screen, and the coolest feature is the no glow. When it takes a picture, you can't even tell even at night. No lights or anything. I no longer have deer staring at my camera because they just saw it light up like a Christmas tree. They have no clue it's there. I have no reason to try anything else.

I have about a dozen Stealth Cam G30's out right now, many of which have been out since March, and they've been rock solid. For the price I don't think you'll find a camera with more or better features. Many of mine have been switched to video mode and put on scrapes so I'm excited for my next card pull.

I second Justin....These G30's rock. Mines been out since June and is still running 70% battery life with the cheap AA's. Great video and pics. These are awesome!

I will go against the grain here. NOT Covert. The day pics are amazing, but in two separate locations so far, the dawn/ dusk pictures are essentially whiteouts. I would recommend a Moultrie M-80, M-880, or a Bushnell Trophy cam. I have two bushnells that were about 2-3 years old that died on me. Sent them in to Bushnell, and they replaced one for free and gave me a deal on another new camera since the other was out of warranty. Both take very good pictures, and definitely take better night and dawn/ dusk pics. I will concede that Covert takes the best day pics, but the abysmal low light pics and bad night pics really disappointed me. I have the MP8 black too, which isn't a bottom of the line model.
