....confirmation! As many of you know RD (Real Deal) is a buck I nearly closed on in 2012 after hunting over 250 hours on stand 100% dedicated to him. He lived and in 2013 went quiet till of course I shot my buck in late October....well he lived again through the 2013 season as we had February pictures after any legal hunting could happen. Well this year it looked like yet again he'd spent his summer months in the 200 acre state (no hunting) owned sanctuary just next to the property...and we were hoping for his reappearance. And BAM, it did. RD is a straight laced 8 pointer with incredible browtines...if he kept growing he legitly could be a 160 inch 8...

Pictures are not the best, but there is no doubt it is him....the 3rd and 4th picture are pictures of him late last year...and the 5th picture is of him late season 2 years ago (with Houdini in the foreground...another awesome buck which is MIA for 2 years now).

Needless to say it is gonna take a solid buck to make me want to use a buck tag on knowing now that RD is back...problem is there are 3 P&Y caliber bucks at the Homestead property (and neighboring river bottom) which would be nearly impossible passes....aaaah love and hate this!

We believe he was a 3 1/2 or 4 1/2 in 2012 season. Which would put him this year at either 5 1/2 or 6 1/2. However, he truly hasn't produced incredible growth any of the last 3 years from the year prior and that almost makes me think he could be touch older but my gut stays with the 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 figure mainly because in 2012 his body didn't scream fully mature.

Looks like a giant (8) pointer to me. Tough to tell from the picture, but you can tell the frame is big.

Awesome buck! Looks like you need more Primos and less Coverts, though.
