I have been getting pics of this big boy four the past 4 summers. He shows up once a year walks up this same logging road and then out in to my clover witch is about 5 yards behind the cam. Then he walks back past the camera leaves and is gone for another year. I sure wish I could figure out how to get him to stay around.
wow!!! let's hope there's some does around when he fed in the clovers and remembers that this november!!!
I would say then he was bumped the day before and is heading back home. I would guess a neighbor was active pretty close to you the day before? Who knows? He would be worth the research and time. Shoot him for the show .
French, I would say your assumption is probably pretty spot on. He always comes from and goes back the same direction Like he was pushed out of his bedding and is just over checking things out. Last year My brother in law Tys, Franks and my deer were all killed off this farm so there is 3 rooms open in the buck hotel. I hoping maybe he moves into one of them.
It would be nice if there was a bigger buck around pushing him out, but I also would think the neighbor theory is what is pushing him out. He also might be looking for something, I had a big buck come by last summer during the middle of the day and found my mineral sight. After that he came back almost ever night for a month to check or hit the mineral, but always in the middle of the night. He pushed all my regular bucks out, then when he left they all came back.
No telling for sure. I have several new bucks move in this time of year from the surrounding area and some of the regulars here move out and then come back...like they swap territories or something. The one I named "Tall Ten" on one of the rental farms last year, I have not gotten on camera this year. I was talking to a neighbor today and he sent me a pic of him he got a few days ago from his property.
GOOD GRIEF... what a monsta' that dude is! Hopefully he'll be 'bumped' onto your property during archery season and you can wack him
Have you called and talked to Dru? or is this on a different property. Let me know if you want or need his number. Maybe you can team up on him and figure it out. Good Luck
