Not sure what's going on this year, but my sites are no showing bucks yet. I'm not too worried, as the sightings historically starting picking up at the end of the month through winter (here's hoping that holds). However, I'm getting tons of fawn photos, quite a few bear shots, and two more bobcats (lots of turkeys).

Here's a few from the last 10 days.

Great photos as usual. That bear on the stump was a great catch.

I like the diversity! Bears would be cool to have if they didnt wreck things sometimes...

I'm in the same situation as you. Buck activity is at a minimal during the summer but gradually picks up by fall. This year has been slower than usual for me too.

Good pics, though. When do you plan on cutting down the buckwheat?

I don't much since it's only a 4 day season, and I'm always working 3 of those 4. However, my dad took one two years ago, and a few years before that. Maybe I will give it a whirl again this year.

This weekend most likely. Only because some foxtail is starting to come up. I'm planting LC's brassica mix, but with no rain in sight for a while, I'll just mow and let it sit for a few days. Till it. Then when rain is coming back, we'll get seed into the ground. Ideally, I like to be planted by now, but no sense with all of the dry weather.
