A rancher in the area raises them. We figured that this guy got out of the fence. Don't know if they ever caught him. Only got one camera shot of him.
I tell you what, that will be one hell of a surprise if that happens come bow season. CRASH CRASH CRASH.. Heart starts pounding and you get ready for a 200" whitetail to come out, only to see that freight truck stomping around.
They use to have some at Land Between the Lakes years ago. They had them behind a 10 foot high heavy duty chain link fence. There was a sign up that said not to harass them of course me and my buddy couldn't resist! I can still remember the sound of them crashing into that fence trying to get to us!
I would not want to come face to face with him on my walk out to the stand. He is a big boy! Better say the jingle again if he comes your way!
They have 6' high electric fences to keep them in so we don't know how he could have gotten out. There is a lot of creek bottom that would make it tuff to find him if he was on the run. We have some time before bow season but if I get another shot of him on camera it will make me think twice before those early morning walks to the stand.
