I went to check my cams yesterday. Six weeks and had 2,028 pics on the Covert and 728 on the Wildgame camera. Too many to try to post on here...Got some great fawn pics and a few nice bucks for my area. This is my land/farm. If you have Facebook check out my pics if you like. It's not really a Deer ranch....lol. Just named the the page and my initials, and my hunting buddies...lol. https://www.facebook.com/pages/BF-Deer-Ranch/426961074034357?ref=hl&ref_type=bookmark
Thanks Guys! HunterC I now have 181 acres. I did have 101 but bought another 80 a short while back that joined mine. It was my wife's cousin who I bought it from. It's not a huge amount to what some own, but it's all paid for is what matter's to me. My kids will enjoy it when they get a little older. I've been hunting here 12 years this year. Last year was the first year I shot any doe's. My deer population have tripled or more to what it was. Killed a handful of nice bucks here as well as a few smaller, but older ones. Thanks again, the fawn pics were the best.
Thank you Jim! To me, those were the best pics I got. The twins were awesome pics. Then the one fawn on the Covert camera, was so small...lol. https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd....7185_729325600464568_549269921270094236_n.jpg
Put up some more pics if anyone wants to look. Got some nice ones at my place now. https://www.facebook.com/pages/BF-Deer-Ranch/426961074034357?ref=stream
Those are some impressive deer, expesially for Tennessee. We have 100 acres in Johnson County but it borders public land and it seems like no matter what we try the deer just don't grow big. If you see a six or eight point you had better shoot it cause it won't be around very much longer. There is also a lot of road hunting that goes on. I have watched at least 3 bucks killed on our property from road hunters, just can never get to them before they are gone. Only one I was able to get close to they emptied 3 rounds in me and my fathers direction. Although it was reported nothing was ever done about it to my knowledge. Back to the original post, those are some brutes. Best of luck putting an arrow through one. I am looking forward to some hero shots in September!!!
I live in Cumberland County, Decent place to hunt. No roads around my land though. This is the first year I've had that many good bucks. Just hope they stick around...lol.
I hope they do too! I'd love to see you put a good one down this year. That one is a dandy!! Just out of curiosity, do you only bowhunt your property?
Yeah, I might take my 25-06 a few times a year if that....lol. Last year I took it once. I Bowhunt 99.9% of the time.
My family prefers the rifle over the bow so they mostly rifle hunt. I use my bow pretty much all season long as well. Once the guns start booming the deer get really spooky. It might serve you well to only bowhunt and give the deer a "safe haven" if you will.
Nice bucks!! How far are you from the small town of Oakdale? I think you are pretty close and thats were I used to stay in my railroad days.
Thought you may have been close. There use to be a hunting preserve in or near Crossville. Is it still there?
Catoosa Wildlife Management area is in Morgan and Cumberland counties. I've never hunted there though.
Post a few more pics up if anyone is interested. https://www.facebook.com/pages/BF-Deer-Ranch/426961074034357?fref=photo https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net...7221_745982682132193_708886654942150514_n.jpg
