What he said. Thinking I switched cards when I leave the same one in, changing the batteries in wrong cams, leaving the batteries out of a cam completely...
Mine are coming up on two weeks in a few days..realizing this possibility, it's going to make the temptation of not checking them them a lot harder.
I know the feeling. It is a sick feeling traveling 2-3 hours to replenish a bear bait and switch cards and realize the camera was not turned on.
Once I set my cams going and as I was about to leave I must have hit the wire from my battery pack came back 3 weeks later and saw this and was so pist... but im sure we all can relate in ways...
Did that last year for 2 weeks over the rut. I almost puked when I came up to see the camera was dead!
Do it more often then I like to admit. I also have a camera that does not like to record on a card (and we can't figure out why). I do it so often I don't even get mad anymore.
I have yet to do that, but have, on several occasions, lost a card loaded with 2-3 weeks worth of pictures.
I've taken a card out and then put the same card back in a few times before!! Of course I formatted the card and lost all videos.
I use python locks on my cameras and one is 15-20 minute hike thru some nasty stuff and a few times I have forgot to bring the key to open it. I usually don't go back and just wait another week or two.
