I currently have 4 cameras on our property, all are lashed with straps to trees, no problem. It just took a while to get them right.

But I have ordered a Red 40 and a Black 60. I want to use tree mounts in these two spots. Which is would be best, the Stik-N-Pik or Covert tree mount?

.........or is there a more economical one out there which will work well? I'd just as soon buy these instead of building my own.

I havent used either tree mounts, but the Stic N Pic from the looks is the same set up as their regular mount and I love that.

If I had to get one I would vote for the Stic N Pic one.

i have no experience with either, but have read the stic n pic is a good one just as the other products they make... I have only encountered a few times where i could have a use a tree mount, but the strap did get the job done, just not as good.

I could see if you were mounting them up in the air, or near a body of water/rock on a steep slope (which is where i could have used one to get it closer to the water). How are you mounting them, just curious? I have thought about getting one or two for the ease o fuse

Thanks for the quick replies, fellows.

Donut, one spot will be mounted higher than normal on a tree and the other spot is on a STEEP slope.

That is a deal on the MPe5 and screw in mount.

.....................Maybe I would be better of buying the Stic-n-Pic Combo Pack which consists of one camera stand and a tree mount. I may eventually want to move a camera over to my mother's who has a small creek out back a distance from the house.

Pm me too! Has anyone tried those rubber straps? I've been trying to attach the cams to these gnarly Utah junipers and it's a pain the butt with the stock strap. I eventually just start cramming sticks between the strap and tree to get the strap tight. LOL I've been looking for a smaller non-ratcheting strap but haven't found any yet.

I have a wealth of information here no doubt!! Gunna have to ponder this a few hours or days. Might try building the Cambush TAuth41 referred to then again I see some stuff including fishing tackle from the Scheel's link Ky Bob provided.

The link I posted will only cost you a $1 or $2. I would try one. I can't justify spending that much money on mounts.

went to HD today and the stuff to make 2 of them. takes 15 seconds to put together and is very sturdy. i put one up in the back yard with an MP6 and was a breeze to set up... i will leave it out for a week or so and see how it does.

i believe it cost me just over $2 per mount... they didnt have much selection on eye screw and bolts so had to get stainless steel. i will make 2-4 more, more than likely.

    thanks for sharing that idea

How did you like the mount? I like them for the cost and I don't see me using anything else.

seems like it will hold up well. the weight of the camera had most worried with the eye bolt, but once tighted down it is rock solid. i wont use them for every camera, but i will certainly have a handful ready to go if i do need them.

im sure the stic n pic mount is easier to adjust quickly.. but i will glady take a wrench with me and save $20 per mount. if i can find the metal garden stakes like on that website i will try a few of those out, and could see myself using them frequently... i was gonna get a stic n pic mini, but will hold off.until i can try one with the garden stake.
