Mother Nature was a cruel female today. It's been almost 2 months since I swapped cards in my cameras so I thought I'd try to git-r-done today ahead of the coming snowstorm. I drove over an hour to my spot and the first thing that happened when I pulled off the road was to get stuck. I worked for a little while and was finally able to get the truck back up on the road. I decided to park it on the side of the road. I put my boots on and started to walk back. The snow in some places was three feet deep and it's a mile back to a couple of my cams. I decided I just couldn't make it with all that deep snow so I turned around and went back to the truck. With another foot of snow forecast for tonight, I'm not sure when I'll be able to check cams again. To say I'm disappointed would be a huge understatement.

    Blessings.........Pastorjim

That's a bummer for now, it will make the pull that much better in the future though. :)

I don't check my cams in the snow either but for different reasons, I don't want to leave tracks for the two legged critters to follow.

Snow Shoes aren't that easy in the deep snow! Believe me, I was out 2 weeks ago in 3 feet of snow and I wasn't sure I'd make it out of the bush. Try digging 3 feet to the ground after a fall . Even tougher when you only have jeans on and a sweatshirt and the sun has started to go down, your wet from sweating and wet also from laying in the snow. Now figure the poles are maybe 4feet tall, this makes it realy hard to get a push to get up from a foot above the snow, being close to 60 doesn't help much either! So Jim, I hear ya when you probably made the right decision by turning around and getting out while you could.Doing it in just boots is crazy!

I cant make it to my property here in central MN because of the snow.

Our new Honda side by side can't make it through some of the drifts even in 4 wheel drive.

That may be the only way I could do it. We got another ten inches after I tried to go the other day. This winter has definitely been one for the books.
