Last year was sitting in a stand and a squirrel almost climbs onto my leg. I flinch and spooked the squirrel. Poor thing went running off the closet branch. Seemed like 2-3 seconds the squirrel was mid flight before bouncing (literally) off the ground. For a few moments I couldn't stop laughing, I thought I may have to call my hunt as I likely scared everything away. I figured however I wasn't going home empty handed as the squirrel didn't make a sound after finding the ground. Finally 2-3 minutes later he came too and wobbled off.
About 30 years ago, I was hunting with an adult neighbor. A squirrel went into a tree. We were near the camper and he went and grabbed a bottle of bleach. I climbed up about 25 feet to the hole and poured in the bleach as instructed. In about 5 seconds, several squirrels shot out of the hole. I leaned back to avoid being run into by a fast-moving squirrels and the branch I was holding broke and I took the plunge, bleach, squirrels and all. I made a quite pronounced THUD. My hunting clothes and hat retained the splattering of bleach spots. No squirrels were shot as my neighbor could not find time to shoot during the hysterical laughter.
