Hello, Thinking of purchasing my first traditional bow. Which bows are good to start on keeping budget in mind? Also unsure if I should look at longbows or recurves. Once I become consistently accurate I will hunt with it. My draw length is 28 inches if it helps.
I would suggest finding a local Trad. Bowhunter to help you. If that's not an option.... You can't go wrong with a samick sage. You can start out with light limbs and for $75.00 later on move up to a heavier weight.
Hello, you can try Mohican Takedown from Bearpaw. Price is from 177€ to 199€. Test: new Takedown Recurve Bow Mohican from Bearpaw - YouTube Odoslané z môjho iPhone cez Tapatalk
There are a few guys on here that do trad, but if you are serious about wanting to get started hunting with a recurve or longbow I would go to tradgang.com. There is a ton of information over there and some really good advice.
Second vote for the Samick Sage. Its a great bow for the price. If you decide you love it you can spring for a more expensive one later.,
Perhaps sending people to other sites is the reason that there's so few that hang around here... chris
OMP makes several good recurves that take down which are easy to transport. I often tell compound hunters if they bowfish to transfer to transitional archery while bowfishing. In bowfishing it is more "draw-n-shoot " which is how recurve shooters hunt. You can not pull a 60 lb recurve and hold it like a compound .
I was looking for the best bow for hunting at a cheap price and I bought Samsick Sage. I totally recommend it for beginners. I bought it thanks to the recommendation from Best Recurve Bow For Hunting - Pro Archery
Id recommend going to a shop and trying a few. However a Samick Sage is a great inexpensive bow to start with.
