Well I decided to play around with some 125 magnums and 125 standards out of my 45 trad pound setup and let me tell you they are deadly accurate they fly so good that I'm thinking about using them this season. There is only 1 problem that stands out to me and that's the noise factor. They are not quiet at all coming out of this bow which makes me second guess using them compared to my zwickey 2 blades which is better to u? I personally would go with the 2 blade for less drag. You want to get as much penetration as possible. The 4 blades combined with steep blade angle might hinder that a little with trad 45# setup.
Ok thanks for the good advice my zwickey fly good too but that makes a lot of since I may look into some more broadheads before it's all said and I'm up a tree Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
I can tell you that out of a 70# compound I get 2x as much (or more) penetration with almost any other head than Slick Trick Magnums of the same weight. Slicks are ridiculously sharp and accurate, but your current set up is a little too light, IMO. The 4 blades with the non CoC tip create a lot of drag. If you're dead set on switching, take a look at Ramcats. They out penetrate most heads on the market.
I was shooting the slick trick standards out of my compound, but I won't shoot them out of my recurve. I have 155 Grizzly single bevel broadheads now. I wanted to ensure as much penetration as possible and this seemed to be the consensus on type of broadhead for penetration. A long two blade broadhead seems to make a lot of sense for sliding through hide and muscle.
An arrow/broadhead combo. that is noisy is something I avoid at all costs. I've used Zwicky two-blade Delta's for nearly 50 yrs and would suggest the Zwicky Eskimo as a good choice for you. Of course, being able to have a sharp broad head is a critical concern.
