Either close your left eye or switch to a left handed bow. I am left handed and left eye dominant but I shoot a bow right handed. It only felt natural shooting a bow right handed. I tried shooting left handed bows but I felt better with a right handed bow. Now, after I have shot a bow for 7 years, my right eye is codominant with my left. I can switch which eye i want to focus with.

I shoot that way, both eyes open. Is it causing you a problem?

If you're instinctively shooting, I wouldn't think there's an issue. Put both eyes on the target a shoot.

Of course, I'm not much of a traditional shooter :busted:

Slowly rotate your head to the right until the 2 images merge into one. It works for me, and I have same condition.

You should shoot w the proper eye on order to be looking over the arrow. It's easier to do than any other method

my fiancé shoots right handed but is left eye dominant. the guy at the proshop has her wear shooting glasses with scotch tape over her left eye when she shoots and she's fine. He also said that an eye patch would work as well. however, she is shooting a compound, not traditional.

Over the long run, you would do better if you learn to shoot left handed.

I'm the same exact way. I shoot guns right handed because I didn't know any better as a kid, but when it came to bow I decided to do it right. Picked up a left handed bow and had zero problems. It feels natural now.

    Few options here....

If you wear glasses, you can simply use scotch tape and put a piece over your glasses where it sits in front of the eye at fill draw.

Your goal is to shoot with both eyes open, less tension in your face and neck area which will result in a more repeatable shot.

Another option is to get a blinder to put on the brim of a hat that works in the same capacity.

    Hope this helps!
    Sincerely,
    Frank McD

I shoot bare recurve bow, bare compound bow (NASP) and sighted compound bow with both eyes open to get depth perception. The only time I close my left eye is shooting through a scope sight on a rifle. I shoot bows RH and LH.
