My first try at making a longbow. Used red oak, and ordered a string online...should be here next week. You guys make your own bows?
I have several that I've made. It's really fun to make and hunt with equipment you've made with your own hands. It is habit forming, it's hard to make just one. If you haven't already done so, start looking for some nice straight sprouts to make arrows. Making arrows is fun too.
That's all I hunt with. This year I am hunting with an osage, ipe, bamboo bow I built a few years ago. An R/D design I came up with about 10 years ago. 70lb @ 28". Tiped with elk antler.
