The hunt I have drawn in for is traditional only. would you recommend I use a recurve or a longbow? I have never shot either! I am also 6' 5'' how much does this come into play when deciding between the two?

I hope the hunt isn't scheduled for a while. Shooting a recurve or longbow takes a lot of practice and commitment. I I'm no expert but I would recommend starting with a bow over 52 inches and low poundage.

look up 3 rivers archery online, they have charts and other helpful items to help, you could also try giving them a call for recommendations. I would recommend you use a recurve, because it is easier to learn if all you are used to is a compound, long bows are much harder to be accurate with when switching. What ever you do make sure to try to get it tuned correctly and tune your arrows or else accuracy will be low.

you are extremely lucky sir.......you cant use sights in this hunt, but ive heard that if you follow the arrow tip and kinda use your peripheral vision, you can put corresponding marks on your riser to get distance down.. then all you have to do is use instinctive to guage windage...just a thought.......derik
