So I have swept the patio twice can hear the acorns hitting the tin roof on the wood shed from time to time. Acorns will be long gone before archery season even starts.

Beech nuts falling in NJ, oaks are hanging on. Haven't checked in VT yet but assume the beech nuts are also falling, no oaks in my section of VT. Great apple year in VT though, will hold the deer well into December.

I just got back from checking a camera and noticed a lot of oaks dropping already. Also a lot less deer on camera this pull. I still have 3 weeks til season starts, looks like I will be hunting October patterns in September.

Not here yet, but the squirrels are cutting on them pretty good already. Should be a good crop. I know it's the year for white oaks here and swamp oaks here.

The oaks aren't dropping yet here in SE Pa. But, I'm hoping my 2 giant (150+yo) white oaks will give up some acorns this year, because they haven't the last three years. They used to drop acorns every other year, but not anymore. A buddy of mine suggested maybe they're not getting pollinated for some reason?

Depends the oaks are pollinated right around when the apples trees are starting to get ready to bloom, a late frost/freeze can set the oaks for sure.

Same here, went on a hike in the mountains on Saturday and was surprised to see lots of big, green acorns on the ground already. I wonder if the trees know something we don't know... early winter this year?
