Packing for Canada, got to thinking, what is something unique or personal you bring on every hunting trip?

For me I bring a small knife given to me by my father, separate from my skinning and dressing knives. Just for luck.

I always take a buck 110 in the woods/on trips with me. It was the last Christmas gift my brother gave me.

I got nothing that I bring with me in the stand. I do have a 4" rappala presentation filet knife that I have used on every fish I have caught and game I have gutted since 1989.

I always take my buck 102 knife. It was given to me when I turned 8 on Xmas by my father. Some how I've managed to never lose it over the years (27). I think when my nephew turns 8 I will pass it down to him since my daughter could careless and I'm not going to have any more kids.

Best laid plans...at 27yo dude, I wouldn't be too quick to give that heirloom away, lol. Fate may have something to say about "no more kids" yet.

Nope. No more kids for this guy. I'm almost 35. My daughter will be off to college when I'm 38.

Ah, I see what you meant now on the age, I didn't account for your age when you got the knife, I thought you meant you were now 27, lol.

I will be carrying my handgun in a holster my grandfather made for me, its leather with an elk engraved on the side. I also like tying different feathers I find to my Marlin 336. So far I have turkey, goose and a few others.

I carry a medicine bag...which was a must have item for the hunt many years ago...but seems to be unique in today's world.

    I always bring two things.
    1. An old handmade knife that my dad gave me a few days before my first deer hunt. I didn't know that he was going to take me at that time. I figured I'd have to wait another season or so. The conversation went something like this.
Dad: What to you think of this old knife?
    Me: It's cool.
Dad: You can have it... You're gonna need a good knife if you're going hunting with me this weekend.
    Me: Really??? WooHoo!
    2. Peanuts in the shell. I love sitting around the campfire or on the cabin porch eating peanuts and telling stories with dad and my brother in law.
