I went to purchase a turkey tag and the store offered a combo turkey permit + turkey game tag. Do you need to purchase a turkey permit as well as a turkey game tag? I asked the people at Cabela's and they didn't know. Here is a link to the page I'm looking at: http://ksoutdoors.com/Hunting/Applications-and-Fees/Turkey. I thought you only needed a turkey tag as a resident.
I'm not sure, from that website it looks like you would need both. Call the DNR and they will be able to tell you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
From the way that I read that, you need to buy both the permit and a tag. I'd buy the combo and save some money. Don't know why they sell them separately?
Any resident or nonresident hunter may purchase a turkey permit valid in units 1,2,3,5, and 6. A turkey permit is valid for one bearded turkey. Any hunter with a spring turkey permit is eligible to purchase one (1) spring turkey game tag valid only in units 1,2,3,5, and 6. A spring turkey game tag is valid for one bearded turkey Permit = 1 bird Permit + tag = 2 bird From the regulations (d) The legal limit shall be one bearded turkey per turkey permit and one bearded turkey per second turkey game tag where game tags are authorized. (g) Only those individuals who have purchased a turkey permit shall be eligible to purchase a second turkey game tag
Both are tags. The permit is like your first deer tag. Then you can get the second game tag. You can by just the permit. You still have to get a license though.
Kansas needs money. Like said permit first than extra tag for extra bird. In spring they needs beards.
