I will try taking a half turn out friday and see how it goes. I think it was because I was fatigued and it was cold outside why there it's a inch gap. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
Quite possible. You could also cut your arrows down a bit. I just mentioned that because your bareshaft and broadhead gave the same result. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I just fletched my bareshaft and another shaft with nap quickfletch quickspins. So that should add minimal weight behind arrow but the quickspins will also add better stability then the cheap slight offset gt vanes. William Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Now sitting here watching the game, I thought about the arrows and adding the quickfletch has now changed my foc to 8% something. Is this going to be a issue for me? I will not be making shots further than 50yards do not only a four pin site? William Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Probably not but I would not shoot that low of an foc. Arrows become a little less stable and penetration could be affected. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I balanced the arrow and did the math it is 9.13%. What are my options? You think I would have penetration issues with a 486 grain arrow on Maryland size deer? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
No, not really. Your on the higher end of the spectrum. But I do feel putting the weight on the front of the shaft is the best overall option, especially if your on the lower end of the spectrum. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I will have to see how they fly and impact the target. I may have to get the arrows cut because I am starting to get heavier then I wanted originally and with turning the poundage down I am not shooting as fast. What other options do I have? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
Regardless of what you hear, ,speed is extremely overated, ,especially when you have a 30+ draw length. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I am not speed crazy but just going off of online calculators, which will just give me a ballpark. The calculators say around 250-260fps. If you think I am fine with those numbers then that's fine with me. I am wanting to get things dialed in and not risk injuring another deer. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
486 gr arrow @ 250 fps is more than adequate. You would be fine if you decided to shoot a lighter arrow but you won't gain anything. Those are the speeds I see with an arrow 100 grains lighter and I don't have any issues. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
Ok so then I don't need to mess with the arrow. If I am seeing penetration issues I will take the quickfletch off and just fletch vanes on without the wrap. I just need to fine tune the bow a little more to get the groups to where they are suppose to be. Hopefully the weather is nice this weekend and I can be outside longer. Ok tfox so now I am completely stumped. I yoke tuned and got the bare shaft to hit next to the fletched arrow, but the bare shaft is still going in at a angle. I decided to give the fixed broadheads a try and I am getting the same results. At twenty yards there it's a for inch gap between the field points and broadheads. This is driving me absolutely crazy. Sounds like spine or broadhead alignment issues. Provided you set centershot correctly. sent from my samsung note 2
I don't understand all this spine specifications, but looking at the charts it just looks like 340 cut at 28.5 and 300 cut at 30.5 shooting 60lbs couldn't be weak. I suppose I will get the kinetics 300 cut shorter? William Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I got a b stinger sport extreme in a 8 inch to help hold the bow more steady and longer stabilizer should help with torque. After installing the stabilizer, I am still getting the same results. I have a open hand, loose grip shooting. The bow doesn't jump any direction but straight? William Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Forget the charts. They aren't perfect. Lower poundage back down and see if that helps tune. If so, you can always cut shaft later and up poundage. sent from my samsung note 2
