Compounds and crossbows are definitely very different weapons - there's no doubt about that. I personally enjoy shooting my compounds a lot more than I enjoy shooting my crossbows. However, when it comes to a sheer efficiency standpoint of having the most lethal weapon to hunt with, the crossbow is hard to beat.

Never had a use for crossbows until I couldn’t shoot a compound anymore. Now I’m thankful for them. Thanks for including them in your reviews.

This past season was my first with a crossbow and what I found was there are some definite advantages AND disadvantages with them. When it comes to just shooting for practice or pleasure, the compound is definitely the best. But I must say I really enjoyed hunting with the crossbow. Since they are being legalized in so many states now, the technology behind them is really going to take giant leaps forward. In other words, follow the money. I know there are a lot of guys against them but it does allow for people who can't shoot a vertical bow any longer to be able to still enjoy the sport they love.

    Blessings...........Pastorjim

I have zero issues with Crossbows but that price tags for the XRT package is outrageous!

So after 50+ years of bowhunting my 72 year old father bought a Ten Point last year. I have to say, they're fun to shoot. He complained about the price right up to when he shot his first buck with it and now he just complains about not having made the switch earlier. He was still shooting his custom Black Widow or his Earl Sr. recurve until 4 years ago and used to rib me for shooting a compound.
