My brother just shot a monster 8 in a neighborhood/urban area. Pumped for him, but I am not there to help him track! Hopefully will post some victory photos soon. He said he wasn't sure about his shot though...

This is the buck...I should qualify "monster" with "monster for an urban deer in Alabama..." Waiting a few more hours to go look for him. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356278752.226559.jpg
It's the biggest bodied deer I have seen around that spot.

bad news, lost the blood trail. He thinks he shot under the deer and hit the inside of the off leg. He is pretty down but you live and learn I guess. I think that buck will live hopefully get a little redemption next week when I get there.

Got to spend the afternoon with a true hero this afternoon. One of my good friends was shot in the head by an afghan sniper last spring and has just recovered enough to spend Christmas with his family. What an honor just to be in his presence. That said, I dont know what everyone believes on our team, but Christmas is a celebration of Christ's birth for me and my family. I wish all of you the best and a very merry Christmas! God bless!

    How is everyone doing?
Been a long holiday season here at home.
My grandma was taken to the hospital on xmas day with congestive heart failure.
She is doing good now though.
Took my 5 yr old daughter out to the blind with me for my 40th bday.
    Didn't see anything.

Got to alabama on wednesday. Friday morning got a call from my neighbors in kansas that my house was flooding...a pipe busted a gushed water for 24 hrs until they called the city and they cut the water off. Got in the car, drove through the night, been doing damage control the last 2 days. Going to make a run to Illinois to hunt 1 day on tuesday since the workers are on vaca and the wife is stranded in alabama with the baby. Been pretty hectic.

Been a busy non-hunting year on my end this year, but it looks like I might be able to pull off 6-7 more sits to finish off the season (ends in WI Jan 6th) on the plus side been a possible sighting of a true monster in the woods I hunt, on the down side, there are a lot of these running around:

Took a picture of that buck back on 12/14, old man went out 2 days after that and found his sheds, within about 20-30 yards from where I snapped the picture, he is/was a 130-140 10 pointer....

So, the plan is to go out this afternoon, and do a scouting sit, then friday morning, depending on the wind, try and use the info from tonite or do another scout sit, and make a push on where the deer are either coming out of, or bedding down in....

with wind chill this afternoon supposed to be 1 out, really looking forward to this.....

Dang sounds like some of you guys have had a bad holiday season. Hope everything is ok. I've got one more trip out west next weekend. Hopefully I can get a doe! After that season is over. Good luck to the rest of you!

Can I say i was a frozen turd when I got out of the stand tonite?

Was really smart and picked a spot where I faced the wind, no hiding from the cold tonite.

Saw a ton of deer, had easy shots at 4 good sized does, the fawns I didn't count :D

No horn, hopefully the wind will cooperate on Friday, and see what I can see.......

What is the ruling on bucks that get shot and a horn(s) fall off while recovering/handling of the buck? Thinking with the year we had around here, any buck is probably about ready.....

Take a lot of pics at the recovery site. As long *** you can show that they fit right. They will count
