Hey guys, didn't see a thread started for our team yet so figured I'd start it off. My names Trevor, seasons opens here in Minnesota on April 18th, also will be hunting in Wisconsin the first week of May, hoping to put some points on the board!
Checking in! My name is Derrick and season opens next Saturday here in GA. This is my first time in the turkey contest and hope I can contribute. Sent from my LG-LS777 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
In! I'll be in the woods on Friday; can't wait I'll probably be toting my shotgun in the morning and setting up with my ground blind and bow in the evening
Team 2 for the win! I'm heading down to Florida Thursday, fingers crossed I tag an Osceola bird. Might not try with the bow with the little time I'll have down there. If the shot presents itself, I'll take it, if not, shotgun it is. Tennessee opens March 31, I so pumped. I had a great year last year, so here's to keeping it going.
I’m here! Name is Nick and I’m from Illinois. Have about a month till my season starts. Excited to get some hunting in. I will definitely be using a bow, so there’s that. “Not all those who wander are lost”
Signing in. We open on April 16th and run until May 20th for archery. Remember folks, you signed up for an archery contest for turkey. Hunt with the bow. I have been on teams that guys never even took the bow out. Don't be that guy. lol
I absolutely plan on hunting with my bow, especially when we go up to Oklahoma. The piney woods of Mississippi make setting up in one spot and trying to call one in very challenging. I've had a lot more success with run and gun. My plan this weekend is to try to chase one off the roost then if I can't, find a strut zone in a road and set up the ground blind
I hunted Mississippi every year for 12 years in a row. Near Natchez. I always hunted with a gun back then. That March trip always got the "run and gun" out of my system so I could slow down with the bow at home. I only had two years that I did not fill all three tags there. One year I killed one, one year I killed two, and the rest of my seasons there, I brought home three birds. It was a ton of fun, and lots of birds. Some of those years I also hunted Missouri and Nebraska in addition to Iowa. I took 7 birds on my best year. Now I just hunt at home for turkeys. Some day I would like to chase them out West.
That Natchez are is some pretty land, giant deer also. I am about an hour to the east. It's still hilly but not as steep. Mostly pine plantation and some mixed in hardwoods along creeks
Trying to keep track of check-ins, once lung buster gets here, we are good to go. Team 2 bowhunt4abuck Lung Buster Trlblzrg fletch920 tcracing mylsuhat Trevor TFO bowhuntingbebout Trlblzr3 S.McArthur

Good morning but not good enough. Had 3 big toms and about a dozen hens come into 40yds but wouldn't come closer. Had a jake run the hens the other direction taking the big boys with. Great opening morning hearing those toms carrying on! Sent from my LG-LS777 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
