Team 17- The Most Interesting Bowhunters in the World

I lost my hunting spot but have gained another spot a couple miles away from that spot. I hope that the big fella that passed me last year comes over to see me again. Here is a buck that made it last year and hope to run across again this year.

That sounds like a good idea to me.

We can also start throwing out ideas for names too.

 

Maybe we can meet up on some public land somewhere and hunt together. Or we can even get Dawg too he isnt that far from me. Where exactly will you be at?

Olly or Siman have either of you ever been a captain in the contest before?

I know some of you guys are pretty familiar with each other so I figured I would start with my introduction so you all have a better idea of who I am, and my hunting situation for the year.

I am Jake Kranz, most of my friends call me by my last name for some reason, (and yes it is pronounced like crayola with a little less "y" sound to it) I am 21 years old, and this will be my third year with the bow in hand. I go to school here in the cities as well as work part time during the school year.

I typically get out in the woods every weekend and over holidays so no complaining there. I had said earlier on the page that I have not been able to run cameras until recent so I unfortunately can’t post up a hit list for you all to see. I do glass from a high ridge to the south of my property and keep a pretty decent inventory on the bigger bucks in the area though so I know what caliber to hold out for until the time (hopefully) comes. I hunt an 80-acre tract of land along the boarder of MN and WI.

I now have permission to hunt a smaller hobby farm (about 25 acres) in Wisconsin South of River Falls. I do have a few cameras up there so hopefully after the first few weeks I can have an idea of whats going on in the area. For being a smaller property it looked like it had plenty of potential, Apple orchard, two creeks, and lots of acorns. There was abandoned farm ground along the south border, which has turned into amazing bedding ground, and some crop ground along the north border. And you could see all the highways going through the hardwoods of the hobby farm up to the apple orchard or over to the crop fields.

I am looking forward to hearing how everyone’s season is going and getting to know all you guys. I had a great time during the contest last year and cant wait for season to open up again this year!

I've never been one for the deer contest. I was the captain of the shed hunting team in the spring if that counts for anything
