Last month this camera started acting up. Had been working fine until I noticed a few pics that were blue (like a camera malfunction). Didn't really think about it until I go back to check it after a week, and it says no pictures on the sd card. Tested the camera and it's not taking pictures. It triggers, just flashes card locked. Well, I tried new sd cards to no success. Next I took out the sd card, batteries, and turned the camera on to reset it. Trail camera worked after this. So, with new sd cards I take it back out and set it up. Come back a week later to only have a few videos on it. Swapped the cards and off I go. When I got home and checked the card 2 videos were blue. I've tried the previous steps again to no success. I've tried updating the camera last night and that didn't work. This is the second Stealthcam to go out in less than a year of use. Any suggestions on how to fix it?[IMG]

Wouldn't that just cause pics to be with ir on not lock the card?

My G42's keep pooping out one at a time to issues. They go so long and just crap themselves.

Mine just take garbage pictures. Nowhere near competitive compared to Snyper/Covert/Bushnell. Which sucks because it appears you have to buy the more expensive models to get any type of quality (not true with other listed brands).

I have another cam that's a Bushnell trophy hd that works great, but it's only had a few months of use. Hopefully it will last longer than either Stealthcam that I have owned.

I had 3 Stealthcams that did this and they just got worse and worse. They only lasted about 6 months. Sucks that cams are so expensive and are such a roll of the dice

I have two G42NGs and have never had any issues with them. They take great photos and the battery life is good, too. I did have one other lower priced StealthCam.... a P18 or something like that. It worked great, but the photo quality was less than stellar, but it was very inexpensive so not the fault of the camera. StealthCam's support has always been great for me, so I suggest contacting them with any issues you are having with your cameras and I'm sure they'll work with you:

They don’t take great photos, that’s simply an untrue statement. At least compared to other cameras in their price range.

They do take good photos if the conditions are perfect, otherwise not so much.

Blow air in the sd card slot. Sometimes if mine get dust in there they'll say sd card locked. My reconyx cameras did this all the time and that fixed them as well. I have 40 stealthcams and they all still work 4 years later and take great pics. The new 4k camera is amazing

My G42NG has worked for four years and I haven't had any issues with it. I've had a Bushnell Trophy cam for the same amount of time and it has started taking green photos recently. I also use a covert MPE6 and it has been working for the past three years with no issues other than battery life. I will say my Stealthcam takes the best photos after four years of continuous use.

I respectfully disagree. Amazon has these on sale now at $87 STC_2635.JPG each. Show me another camera in that price range that takes pics this good or better and I'll agree with you.

Those aren’t from the GN42, which is what this thread is about.

My GN42s are not wide angle and are not remotely close that clear.

Nope just not tied to any brand specifically. An unbiased opinion.

The Bushnell Essentials E2 has been flawless.

Unfortunately I’ve had issues with the night pictures on the Essentials E3, for whatever reason they have regressed on quality.

This is from one of my GN42s. I bought them thinking they were gonna be wide angle but they are 4:3 and actually zoomed in a little more than I would like. That buck is about 20-25 deer from the camera.

It’s a good picture, but conditions were perfect. I don’t have any night shots saved because they are grainy and out of focus.

Taken with G42s. These deer are all at least 30' away from the camera.

So it's like an old NES? That's crazy, but I will give it a try.
