How many people actually use the level on the bottom of the sight ring housing? I do sometimes and notice as I shoot more (and get tired) I tend to torque my bow a little more and see it with the level.
I check it as part of the process of shooting. Helps to have a step by step process it keeps your mind on task when actually shooting at a deer.
I use it because I tend to torque my arm all the time. I've started using side bars to help & once I get the side bar balanced with the right amount of weight it's just natural to draw & the bow be level Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I use it religiously when practicing, but couldn't tell you if I've ever looked at it when shooting an animal. It definitely comes in handy when shooting longer distances.
I use them when setting up and getting tuned to make sure the bow is balanced. When actually shooting, I have too much tunnel vision to use it.
Same here. Heck when shooting a deer I don't ever remember even using the sight. Routine just takes over I guess.
I forced myself to use it every shot. When on uneven ground I have noticed how necessary it becomes. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I used to shoot an HHA with cross hairs and no level for the same reason but now my Black Gold sight has a level and I see how much I lean the bow at times. When I shoot I'll focus 100% on the spot I'm aiming at then bring my bow arm up and set my distance pin on that spot and level my bow, all with keeping my eyes focus on the target. The pin is just floating in between and the level I see with my peripheral vision so I'm never really looking at it. I find that if I draw back with the level set it seems to stay level easier than if I drawback, anchor my hand and then try to level it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I use it with every practice shot. I don't remember ever using it to shoot at a deer though. At that point, I am hoping instincts take over from all the practice.
100%. I actually prefer sights that have a larger level so I can be aware of what's happening with it w/o having to look directly at it.
Absolutely use it. Windy conditions you can practice bubbling off and get a good feel for your set up in cross winds. My level keeps me honest. Keep in mind that the level is only as good as all your Axis adjustments.
I do notice better arrow flight when my bow is "plumb". Just toying with an idea I have cooking in my head on something...
I never use the level, but mine fell off and HHA replaced it at no charge. I'm just so used to it being there that I wanted to replace it.
I use mine. I always have to tweak my bow clockwise just a hair Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
