POW: A Tick Disease Worse Than Lyme?

    That article makes me itch. I went into the woods today to check a few stands and freshen a lick and yes my pants were soaked in permithrene but I pretty well stay out of the woods in the summer because I hate ticks. And despite the permithrene I still pulled a few of them off.

    The Lone Star tick that transmits a illness that make you allergic to red meat, that would really piss me off.

    I'll continue to take my precautions, but I refuse to be scared into no longer doing things I enjoy because of this or any other thing.

    everyone in my area have told me how bad they are this year but I still have yet to find one on me. I must stink really bad.

    what is the best tick repellent? and where can I get it?

    They are everywhere here in Western MA now... can't go anywhere without being covered. I used this stuff this past turkey season w/ great results... but i'm sure they'll say this isn't good for us either.

    I've treated all of my boots and most of the pants I use for off-season prep with Permethrin. It works wonders and the ticks are horrible here this year.
