How many trail cameras do you guys use? I currently have 12 and wish I hade at least 10-15 more. I have access to hunt approximately 400 acres hard. However, I find myself wishing I had more cameras at various pinch points or leaving a camera permanently to help the deer get used to it. What's everyone's take on this subject? Do you have a formula for how many trail cameras you really need?
I hunt many an acre of public land and have accumulated 8 this summer used off the internet for around $25 bucks. Would like to have about 100 more.... and an assistant.... or nothing but the ones that send texts to my phone... and then a virtual assistant to sort through them in my DeerLab account. Real drury/lakoski type shiz! I'll let my assistant tell me where I need to hunt on opening morning!! Nah in all honesty I could only handle about 15... would like to keep my foots off the ground as much as possible. Just getting to my spots takes an eternity. I've heard it said that you need one per ten acres but I don't know for sure. Blessings..........Pastorjim Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I have seven and only four are out and three of those really need to be in better locations. I have those four cameras spread out over about 60,000 acres. Coverage is a bit thin. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
We have about 120k trees, I don't think I need one on every tree, but every other for sure. Plus some food plot and field cams. 70,000 G 30s should do the trick Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I have one near each stand I have (3) and 2 that I move around during scouting or during the season. So 5 total. I have access to a couple hundred acres. Wish I had many more though I love checking cams.
Right now I have 9 out on my 40 acres and I'm not covering the whole property. I have 19 total cams and I've had as many as about 15 out on that 40. It's amazing how you will miss certain deer on most of your cams and only catch them on one particular camera. You only know this when you have a bunch of cams out though.
I have 7 on my 80 acres. One of those is over a bear bait. I have more cameras over the plots and few along known trails.
the most important one to have is the one in your pack ready to put out on a moments notice. sucks when you find smoking fresh sign and don't have a cam to put out. I always keep one in my pack just for that reason.
Zero on 340 acres. Too much relying on technology for my tastes hunting but best of luck those who use them. I might change my opinion if I owned the land and could manage it exactly how I wanted. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I have 9 but need more! I hunt 4 spots. One farm is about 600 acres ( I concentrate on about 100 acres), 2nd spot is about 400 acres and 3rd spot is 40 acres and 4th spot is 25 acre. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
