Been shooting the same daisy model 131 for YEARS, Id guess almost 20 years. Im finding it not powerful enough anymore for my needs. I looked it up and it's a 630 fps rifle, compared to modern pellet guns this thing is a dinosaur. So im going to be getting a new one soon. Always thought I would stick with a .177 but now they have a .22 that is 1100 fps. Anyone have any pros and cons of .177 vs 22? Most shots are 5 - 15 yards on pest creatures.
.177 ammo is cheaper and more easily found. .22 will have more power. Accuracy is about the same with the right pellet.
I have a Gammo whisper quiet cat in .177 caliber and it would do well at those ranges and beyond. Its crazy accurate.
I bought a benjamin steel jim shockey edition .22 This thing has more recoil than my 22lr! Super accurate
My cousin just bought a Gamo Whisper Fusion Mach 1. Some night we're going to sit down and do some shooting and compare his and mine.
