https://www.today.com/video/in-unorganized-baseball-games-kids-play-by-their-own-rules-1023581763674 I tried so hard to do this with basketball at our school, could not get the gym time from the school, still want to do it.
Looks like a league for kids who don't want to play a sport My 7 year old might go for this, but he's got a couple buddies that never would. They are super into baseball specifically and can't stand the kids playing in the dirt in the infield and when kids don't throw the ball to the base. It does remind me of listening to their football rules at recess though. You run and if you are tagged, the down is over and its the other teams ball, but if you kneel before you are tagged, you get another down. At least, that's what I could gather when we played outside together and he kept going to a knee when I got close.
I thought the same thing too. I think there needs to be both. There is no need to hinder kids who enjoy the competition and excel at sports.
So we haveta "organize" to get kids to go out and play these days? I played organized sports every year I was in school all the way from kindergarten, baseball in particular, and even so practically every day during the summer or weekends all the neighborhood kids would get together and play every sport imaginable on our own. Baseball, basketball, street hockey, football, whatever. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
