So i have a complaint, muzzy trocar hb have shot two deer first deer bent expandable side rendering broadhead unusuable. Second deer pulled broadhead out and broke the expandable side rendering it useless.

Next is nocturnal nock, if they impact to hard they blow apart see picture

Just wondering if anyone else has had these problems IMG_0254.JPG

But now let me say that black eagle arrows are good sent the same one thru two deer!!

lower your expectations on any make/model of mechanical head re-usage. While the body/ferrule is usually fine the blades rarely are.
I shoot Muzzy HBs and every one has had at least 1 bent blade after recovery (one was only slightly curved; all the others had had at least one very noticeable bend.)

Be pleasantly surprised when you can touch one up and re-use it.

That's why it's nice to keep replacement blades on hand.

Oh, I forgot- but enjoy the massive holes both entry and exit. And smashed bone.

I use the Muzzy Trocar HB as well, I already assume the blades will be shot after use. I use this theory on the swhacker/MX-3 and other thin blade broadheads. It kind of comes with the territory with these type of thinly bladed broadheads. There have been several occasions where a touch up as mentioned allowed the second usage. It depends on the shot placement and what they hit passing through.
I will rotate the used ones to the "back" of the lineup though, I love the Trocar, I made two crap shots this year and still had dead deer within 100 yards. I do not care for them on turkey though, I prefer the MX-3 for birds.

I swear archery hunters are the cheapest people out there. 1 time use buy new ones. Then again I take 1 shot maybe two any given season.

I plan on only using a broadhead once. An expandable had the advantage of a larger wound channel, but the disadvantage in strength. It is what it is, and there's always trade offs.

As for the Nockturnal, I've seen different lighted nocks break on impact if you hit something hard. That energy has to go somewhere and the nock is that last place for it to go.
