Im looking to add a new seat to my lone wolf sit and climb, since it is not very comfortable in my opinion anyways.

I think there is only about two options, if any one knows of any others please tell me.
here are the two i am between right now, and not sure which one to go with.
either the basic style summit climber seat (not the wrap around seat because im not sure that it will fit properly)
or a silent seat by hazmore outdoors.
any opinions on either one? im having a hard time deciding. my main goal is to get the most comfort from this stand as everything else about it, isnt too bad.

You can pick up an old wooden chair at a second-hand store. I'd just remove the legs and bolt that bad boy to your climber. It would be super comfy.

yeah it would probably be comfy, as far as carrying the thing into the woods and climbing with it, will probably be a different story .
im hoping someone has experience with the seats i listed so i can decide on one of them

    Donnie,

How much does this seat add in terms of comfort? I have the Summit Goliath. Was your seat wore out or is it worth the upgrade even if your seat is not wore out yet.

the main reason i was looking into the summit seat is because i have heard of more than a few people saying they fit well on the lw,
the only thing i may be worried about with the seat you mentioned, is that it is so big and take up a lot of space.

It is A LOT more comfortable. Did you click on my link in the bottom of the post? If so, you'll see some comparison photos between my stock seat and this one. The cottonwood outdoors seat is thicker and a lot more supportive. Their pads are thicker too. I replaced the "butt pad" and I can't even feel the bar anymore while I could with the stock one.

My seat was about on the brink. Yeah, I could have stuck it out a few years more but I couldn't after seeing this seat firsthand. It also has a storage pocket in the back of the seat too.

Not too sure how much more space this seat will take up. It if will work though, I'd definitely recommend it to you. Good luck!

    That seat looks awesome Donnie!

If you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and finish the stand off by buying some safety tape from WW Grainger or somewhere like that to put on the flats of your stand bottom; you'll be amazed at how much secure and comfortable you'll be/feel when the stand gets a little water on it in a drizzle.

The Summit seat will work but is a touch big for the LW. That cottonwoods seat will be much to large for the LW. I saw those at the ATA show a couple years ago. They are a nice product if / when a seat upgrade is needed on the Summit.

Follow this link for a review I did a couple years ago of the LW with a summit seat, with plenty of photos.

Thanks Greg! I actually had some of the safety tape (basically sandpaper consistency) on the platform but I took it off. I found that while I had deer in range, I turned/pivoted my feet to get in position for the shot but the tape made too much noise. Maybe I got something with too much grit and picking my feet up instead of pivoting is out of the question. :D

Here is exactly what I had on my stand. Is this the same thing you're talking about?

ok i read the review, so would you recomend me getting this seat for it? you say it makes it more comfortable, but is it worth it? does it make the stand feel more spacious? the stand to me seems really narrow, and im not a huge guy 6 foot and 180 pounds.

I might have to check into some of that.

Now I'm wondering if I sprinkled sand on the platform and re-painted if that would help or cause the same issue. Hmmm...might be time to experiment.

Yes, it makes the stand more comfortable. It does not make the stand feel more spacious. If anything it takes away a little platform space compared to the LW seat as it is more bulky. We are about the same size as well.

If comfort while sitting on stand is what you seek, than yes I would recommend the seat.

ok thanks for your input, now i just have to decide if i want to go with the summit for comfort, and lose some space, or go with the silent seat, i cant see it being more comfortable than the summit but it would definitely add to the spaciousness. ahh decisions decisions.
thanks for your help. im hoping someone will chime in that has used the silent seat. because with it i can see it being an all or nothing type seat on a comfort rating. but its hard to tell without trying it first.

it seems too narrow, but i dont want to buy a whole new upper piece, ( i dont think just adding the seat from a lw wide would help it would need the whole upper climber)
and to me it isnt very comfortable at all. Hard to describe why its uncomfortable just is ha ha

I have the Hazmore net seat for my LW. Easy to install and of course extremely lightweight. No its not nearly as comfy as a Summit type seat. But for almost the same exact reasons I prefer a Lone Wolf sitnclimb is the reason I do like my Hazmore net seat.................it doesn;t take away from the ability to use most of the platform for standing and shooting. Also very easy to climb with.

thanks for your response, thats the kind of first hand knowledge i was looking for.
im caught between the summit, and the silent seat. cant decide if i want comfort, or usability.
in your opinion is the hazmore more comfortable than the lone wolf seat? ( i have the newer version of the sit and climb, not newest as in this year, but not the old style)
