The family and I stayed at an old friend's cabin this weekend, I took my boat thru the lock between the upper and lower lake. It is pretty cool a public operated lock, one of few left in the country. Just a beautiful boat. The lock is just a bonus.

Thanks, it was a great weekend I left the boat up north for my friend to use next weekend. Normally I would not just leave my boat for somebody to use but this is the friend I bought the boat from.

The middle Eau Claire lake is a piece of nostalgic history. Gordon MacQuarre who wrote stories for Field and Stream titled Stories Of The Old Duck Hunters had his cabin on that lake. The famed Posie's point on Libby Bay was in my friends family. The old ice house mentioned in stories is on my friends land, the old green boat used to get to Posies Point is in the rafters of my garage. My friend has the letter that Gorden mailed to Posie talking about the duck flight, it was mailed the day before Gorden died.
